CREATIVE ECO – HOME TREASURE HUNT- MAPS

It’s not all doom and gloom we still have our imagination. The next time your adult makes a cup of tea take the tea bag and place in a small cup of warm water.

MATERIALS: Paper, Pencil, Pen, Crayons/Coloured pencils, Teabag, Hot water (adult supervision)

  1. Choose a room/ rooms in the house.
  2. Draw a map/ lay out of your chosen room/s using your imagination to create obstacles and landmarks.

3. Colour in the landmarks and objects on your map. Make direction marks that leads to the hidden treasure. I have added tasks at each landmark eg. Spooky cave you have to recite your 10 x table to be able to pass to the next destination where you have to find a key which opens the treasure case. ( remember use your imagination)

4. Once teabag has cooled down, squeeze teabag leaving a small amount of liquid on it and them rub across page.

5. Now the whole page has a tint leave to dry.

6. While you wait for your map to dry gather 5 objects from around the house for a member of you house to find. write up your questions and set up your obstacles.

7. Once paper is dry screw up page and open flat, your paper will now look wrinkled and old. For a final authentic touch get a adult to burn the edges.

8. Now you are all set and ready to start your treasure hunt have fun.

Send in your map designs select designs, will be posted in our gallery. please add your name, year group and school. Can’t wait to see all of your designs.

EXTRA ACTIVITIES:

1.Make signs and props for each room/ landmark.

2. Get 2 or more members of your family and turn into a family game by taking turns and answering questions to allow them to move.

3. Film and make into a game show.

Self isolation creative ideas

We are all going through strange times right now but it is very important that we keep busy, stay positive and safe as possible.

As we are stuck indoors this is a perfect time to keep yourself busy and get creative using stuff around the house and you imagination.

Over the next couple of weeks I will be uploading creative ideas for you to do from the comfort of your own home. Once you have completed your creations from the blog or worked on your own project please feel free to send them in and they will be posted on our gallery for all your friends and family to see.

I can not wait to see all of your amazing designs. keep posted for new creative projects.
