Sustainable Fashion After School Club KS1

Autumn Term 1st Half

  • For the first half of the autumn term the Sustainable Fashion club students have been working hard learning new techniques and skills and have applied this into their work and creations.

For Black History Month we focused on pattern, prints and fabrics. Over the weeks students designed and made a variety of African inspired handmade accessories. Hair bows, bags, outfit designs, pillows and neck jewellery.

Every project students designed and created their own original handmade designs using the techniques they learned over the course they then applied it to their designs. With every lesson students have become more confident to put their ideas down and attempt to make their vision come to life.

Autumn 2nd Half

As the second half of the autumn term began students were eager to get even more creative we started  off the term with students working in groups to create their own printed fabric design for our club display board.

Each group chose different elements to make out of recyclable materials to create a full outfit and accessories.

Creative Eco After School Club

Over the Autumn term in Creative Eco Club students have been very busy getting creative and learning new skills. We have worked on a number of small projects over the term and students have produced their own amazing pieces of art.

Autumn Term 1st Half

At the start of the term for black history month students focused on African patterns and prints recreating their own prints inspired by African prints and patterns, working with scrap paper and printing with recyclable materials. Each student picked out their favourite prints then used to create a cover for their hand made art portfolios where they are now able to store and carry their artwork.

Autumn Term 2nd Half

After a well-deserved half term break students came back ready to get stuck in, so for the second part of the autumn term we focused on ‘Self’ working with different recyclable materials to create different ways and techniques to show case self-portrait pieces of art. All students worked very hard on this project and produced some outstanding pieces of work over the weeks producing 3D abstract portraits, self-portrait photo recreation and an original DIY double photo frame.
